Under the Sea!

There are different opinions on the Virginia Beach Aquarium, some people love it and some people hate it, but personally I really enjoyed it. Its affordable for my son and me to go to for the afternoon and its just the right size to be able to see everything but over a few hours. They have a lot of different species of animals, marine life, and plants. Every few months they have a different exhibit. When we went it was the Red Sea exhibit with Dragons, Crocs, snakes, sea horses, and some wildlife. It was pretty nice and different. My son LOOOOVVEEED the sea horse part. He has a little glow sea horse he's been carrying around for 2 years now that he has named Gort.

I am not going to go on about every single thing they had there but I will highlight on a few that we absolutely loved! We really loved the Sea Turtle exhibit. It was amazing and breath-taking. Its 70,000 gallons of water that houses 3 different types of turtles. Its amazing and I could sit at this exhibit all day and just stare. Another one we loved was the Stingray tank. My son loved it especially because he could play in the water and pet and feed the rays. The Sea Otters were pretty neat too. They are very playful and silly. And at the end, the Seals. The seals were awesome! They loved my son. They kept following him as he ran along their glass tank. It kept him entertained for half an hour before I had to drag him away kicking and screaming.... he was crying too =p . If you want to check out their site you can at  http://www.virginiaaquarium.com/Pages/default.aspx   They have live webcam and maps of the facility

**Ignorance is bliss**

I took these pictures in Brevard, NC. I didn't know if I was highly offended, hurt, or disgusted by them. These people were marching outside of a church, holding up the small 2 lane road to voice their opinions about the war and how our government is evil for keeping our troops overseas. I come from a strong military family and my husband is in the military and this really hurt. It almost felt like they were pointing the finger at us as we drove through the town. Our country was built on Freedom and where I respect there freedom of speech and opinions, I feel like they don't respect what our military is doing for them. Do they know what would happen if we didn't have the military we have? Do they care? Do they know what would have happened if Busch cowered and didn't send any troops over seas to settle what happened on 9/11? Do they know what would happen if we just pulled out troops out all at once, right now?

“My life is like a stroll on the beach..."

Our Family loves the beach! We spend a majority of our time on the weekends and a couple times a week on it. We are very blessed being a Navy family, because the odds are, we will always have some kind of Ocean to play at. Our son was 4 months the first time he dipped his toes in the ocean and until this year, we havent been able to keep him out of it. This year, he says its too wet and too cold. I think we just put him in the ocean prematurely while the ocean was still cold from the winter. I'm hoping as the ocean warms up he will gradually get back in.

Lady's Story! Wolf Dog or kid?

This is Lady. She is a Wolf/Malamute Hybrid and she is 3 years old. She is a rescue puppy from a rehab center in North Carolina that tries to take wolves and hybrid wolves and rehab them back into the wild. Lady, however, walks to the beat of her own drum. She thinks she is a human and was way too domesticated to be returned to the wild. I like to think she was either the “ugly duckling” who doesn't know she's a wolf or she is the smart one who figured out she will never have to hunt for food again.Sadly, wolf hybrids have become one of the most controversial canines over the past few years. They are seen as aggressive and bad family dogs because when one attacks the media blows it out of proportion. However, when a regular average popular dog type attacks, you never hear about it. There have been more attacks over the years from Boxers, Shepherds, and even Dalmatians thank wolf hybrids.
A lot of people cant handle wolf hybrids because they do require a lot of attention and exercise. Lady has major separation anxiety because she is very pack oriented and if she isn't placed in a room when we leave the house, she pees on the living room floor. She has never chewed anything of ours but she is very curious and gets bored easily and will rearrange items in the house. Its almost like a game to see if she can hide them from us and if we can find them. With enough attention, love and respect you will have a wonderful addition to your family for many years. I wouldn't recommend leaving any dog alone with a young child just because they are jittery but Lady loves our son and I feel safe with them playing in the same room. She is very protective of him and lays by his bedroom door at night. When you adopt a wolf hybrid you aren't adopting a dog, you are adopting a new family member.
